BEST-SELLING AUTHORS AT HARVARD

I HAD a fast-paced week but it was productive. I enjoyed some priceless moments with mom in Bartica. We watched Dancing with the Stars while she greased and massage my scalp.

Those moments brought back fond memories of childhood. Hours later, I was on a Caribbean Airlines flight to the city that never sleeps. I attended the Caribbean Business Connect (CBC) event in NY hours after getting off the plane. I attended one in June and found it was a great place to network, and for people who know me are aware, that I rarely miss networking opportunities. They provide a platform for creating new partnerships between Caribbean and American business owners and professionals. I got the opportunity to discuss some possible collaboration. I was on my way to Boston after a brief nap. I had promised my friend Claudia Vidal that I will attend the event at Harvard to support her, and the other bestselling authors on their platinum tour.

We are all from the Best Sellers Guild hosted by Kidding Marketing and are on a mission to inspire. We communicate online and Claudia was the only one I met in person before. I received an amazing welcome from all of these empowered ladies and I had no idea I was such a motivation source for them. The Harvard Campus is huge and reminded me of the day I got lost on Brown University Campus in Rhode Island. I was the first Caribbean Designer invited to that Ivy League School to do a presentation on Caribbean fashion.
The nature of this presentation was different because it was not students from Harvard, but was hosted in the Harvard Faculty Club.

All of the presenters did well and I decided to share highlights with you this week.
Author Pamela Garrison from California, topic was Bubbles therapy -Don’t Stress Blow bubbles.

Her talk addressed the issue of being angry, frustrated, and irritated. She explained a pivotal moment where she discovered you can’t blow bubbles angry. In order to get to the bubbles of life, you must pause, take a deep breath, and slowly breathe out to get to the bubbles of life-joy, peace, happiness, etc.

Dr. Aimee Sanchez spoke about healing your money drama. She has dedicated over two decades of her career to helping individuals heal, and has taught thousands of women how to rewire their lives for success by helping them to achieve and bring strategic alignment to their life visions, value and goals. How to free yourself from beliefs that are rooted deep within the unhealed money stories from your past, and learn to create a healthy awareness of your relationship with money

Saundra Cage who is calm and beautiful, her topic was, Please wake up! She encouraged people not to be a walking dead and find their purpose. She mentioned how too many people die in before the day they are pronounced dead.

The energetic K. Moneak presented on the Three Keys That Fits Every Door: Clarity –We must be clear about where we are going and what we want to achieve. Courage -To be able to press on even when things are not ideal. Confidence –That assurance that it will happen no matter what.

L.A Roberts spoke about the faith we have as children and encouraged us that sometimes we need to go back to that kind of faith.

My friend Claudia Vidal was the last speaker who spoke on six words that impacted her life.
“There has to be another way”, those six words became my everyday mantra as I navigated through the complexities of life. Today, I intend to share some of the experiences that led me to discover a powerful tool that shifted my mindset from a limited perspective to an expanded perspective, allowing me to discover who else I could become, as I engaged with other people’s point of view.

It is great when you can find a way to use your experience to inspire others no matter where you are from.
