A NURSERY school teacher was robbed of cash, laptops, cellular phones and food items as she laid asleep with her three children at her Lot 48 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice home on Monday.
Tocia Erskine had secured her home before retiring to bed with her three children, but when she got up Tuesday morning to prepare breakfast and lunch, she observed her back door open.
On checking, she noticed a television set, three laptops, her purse containing cash, her working bag, her son’s bag and food items in her refrigerator, missing.
The Viola Nursery School teacher said while she was sure she had secured her home, detectives are of the opinion that it was not so, as there were no signs of forced entry.
The teacher said while she supports her striking colleagues, she reported for duty on Monday, since she has “bills to pay and food to put on the table.”
The police are investigating the incident.
