THE best of the best in drag racing are going to be out today for the third instalment of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) King of the Strip (KoTS 3).

According to reports from the South Dakota Circuit yesterday, things were in tip-top shape ahead of today’s meet which begins at 09:00hrs.

The club has confirmed that all preparatory work has been completed in anticipation of today’s event which is expected to feature one of the largest participant bases thus far.

Meanwhile, the former record-holder Randel Daby and the Unicom Supra are expected to make a return today as well, the team confirming a successful test earlier in the week.

It is unclear so far in which class they will be competing but from all indications, it seems as though they are aiming for the track record.

That is currently held by the reigning king of the strip, Goliath, owned and operated by the Mohamed’s Enterprise team.

The car, undefeated at the South Dakota Circuit is expected to be front and centre to defend its title today.

The event is sponsored by Mohamed’s Enterprise, Ansa McAl, B.M. Soat, ExxonMobil, Tropical Shipping, Del Ice Company, Japarts, Palm Court and Trans Pacific Auto Sales and Spares.
