THE land that was built up by a concrete structure to further give support to a two-storey house in Victory Valley, collapsed on Wednesday at around 10:00hrs after a one-minute tremor was felt following a three-minute one on Tuesday.
The house is owned by Cheryl Fung.
Her son Steve said no one was at home at the time of the incident but noted that the second tremor along with the heavy rains caused the structure to collapse.
He house is situated on an uneven land and so the bottom was built up with concrete to level its foundation. Nothing in the house was damaged and no other damages or casualties were reported to officials in the town.
While residents were still recovering from Tuesday’s tremor that left shock waves across Guyana, another one occurred on Wednesday. It was not as long and intense as Tuesday’s tremor.
