Two arrested in ammo find

TWO men have been arrested after ranks stationed at the Providence Police Station, received reports on Sunday of persons discharging firearms indiscriminately at Farm Squatting Area, EBD.

According to a police release, on responding to the reports, they found two motor cars which were parked at the location in question and conducted a search on both the cars and the drivers.

“In one vehicle, the ranks found a live 9mm round while in the other another live 9mm round was also found therein. The lawmen also found two spent shells of the same calibre of rounds found, next to one of the vehicles. No firearms were found.
The men, 30 and 21 years, unemployed and of Herstelling Housing Scheme and Farm Squatting Area respectively, who are not licensed  firearms holders, have been arrested and are assisting with the investigation,” the release concluded.
