APPEARING before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on Friday, were three teens charged for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.
Eighteen-year-old Caozuyag Menuy along with a 15-year-old and 14-year old co-accused were not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that between October 1 and October 31, 2017 at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara they engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.
They were represented by attorney-at-law Paul Fung-a-Fat who made an application for bail.
The two older teens were released on $70,000 bail while the 14-year-old was released on $40,000. The matter was adjourned until August 24.
According to reports the girl was held against her will by the three boys at a Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara home during the month of October, 2017.
The three boys reportedly held the 11-year-old down and physically molested her. The victim later told her mother about what had transpired and the matter was reported to the police.
