GMR&SC Endurance set for August 5

… International drags August 26

RACING action returns to the South Dakota Circuit this weekend after a lengthy layoff with an endurance race event.

The club will host its second endurance event of the year from 13:00hrs at the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri.

According to the club, there are four categories up for grabs.

They are the 0-1500cc class, the 1501-1600cc class, the 1600cc-2000cc and the unlimited (over 2000cc).

The defending champions, Ramchand’s Wreckers team of Adrian Fernandes and Annand Ramchand, had completed 83 laps, over the two-hour event the last time out in their Gillette-sponsored Levin.

In the 0-1500cc class, Roshan Ali and Shahabudin Roshandin are the defending champions as they outshone the Nexus team of Haniff Mohamed and Raymond Seebarran who completed one lap less.

The 1501-1600cc was won by the Wreckers.

In the 1601-2000cc class, Rameez Mohamed was the only driver to finish the race with 32 laps, also resetting the lap record with 1:19.086.

The Unlimited class was won by Romeo Singh who completed 57 laps.

Meanwhile, the club has also set August 26 as the date for its second drag meet of the year.
