A LONE gunman on Friday bravely walked into the M&M fast-food snackette at Houston, East Bank Demerara and robbed the cashier at the facility of an undisclosed sum of cash.
The man who had his gun tucked under his clothes walked into the establishment under the guise of being a customer. Once at the counter he whipped out the weapon, pointed it at the cashier and demanded that she hand over the cash.

Without any hesitation, the cashier complied and handed the money over to the bandit who quickly concealed same and exited the establishment. The matter was reported to the police who immediately launched an investigation.

The bandit, after carrying out his attack, then left the area on a bicycle which he arrived on. Police sources are working with intelligence that he might have come from the McDoom, East Bank Demerara area.

One police source indicated that the incident took place after 15:00hrs. This publication was told that the location generally does not have many customers at one time.
The gunman’s image was captured on CCTV footage and the police are working to enhance the quality with the aim of bringing the perpetrator to justice.
