FOLLOWING a tip-off, drug enforcement officers attached to the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) stumbled upon more than 20 cases of smuggled Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky in several barrels at a city wharf on Wednesday.
The bust was made at a wharf on Water Street in Georgetown on Wednesday morning. Reports are that the GRA officers received information that the importer of the barrels may have provided false information on consignment documents.
The enforcement officers were on Wednesday attempting to locate the importer, a task made difficult, since false addresses were placed on relevant documents.
