Four charged with murder of phone card vendor

THREE males and a female were remanded to prison on Tuesday in connection with the death of phone card vendor, Roy Mansfield, on June 19 at Westminster, West Bank Demerara (WBD) when they appeared before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court

The accused are Shomar ‘Pope Pi’ Singh, 21, of 61 D’Urban St., Wortmanville; Alexander La Cruiz, 25, of 179 Meten-Meer-Zorg, WCD; Mark ‘Biggs’ Welch, 25, of 2743 Recht-door-zee, WBD and Naiomi Bentick, 25, of 893 Westminster, WBD.
They were remanded to prison until August 23, 2018.

Mansfield, a father of two known as ‘phone card man’, had just arrived in front of his Westminster home after work when he was confronted by armed bandits who shot and robbed him of his day sales.
