A BUSHY Park, East Bank Essequibo businessman who decided to affix two fake presidential crowns to his unregistered motor vehicle and reportedly used same to transport celebrants of a wedding was on Tuesday charged and released on bail at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court.
His case has been adjourned to August 13 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. In a release police said the defendant Peter Katahan, 43, a Rural Sergeant and President of the West Demerara Road Safety Association was charged with the offences of: fraudulent imitation of identification mark and unregistered, unlicensed, uncertified and uninsured motor vehicle. He pleaded guilty on all the charges and was released on $20,000 bail. The offences were allegedly committed last Sunday at Hubu ,EBE.
