APPEARING before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on Monday were two teenagers who are charged for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.
Eighteen-year-old Caozuyag Menuy and his 15-year-old co-accused were not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that between October 1 and October 31, 2017 at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, they engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.
They were represented by attorney-at-law Paul Fung-a-Fatt, who made an application for bail. They were released on $70,000 bail each and the matter was adjourned until July 27.
The Guyana Chronicle understands that a 13-year-old boy is also expected to be charged soon for the same offence. According to reports the girl was held against her will by the three boys at a location on the East Bank Demerara during the month of October, 2017.
