East Ruimveldt man remanded on two charges

MARLON Dominic was on Monday slapped with three charges when he appeared before a city magistrate.

The charges alleged that on July 6, 2018 at West Ruimveldt, Marlon Dominic discharged a loaded firearm towards Youhan Downsey with intent to disfigure or cause grievous bodily harm.

It was also alleged that on the same day at West Ruimveldt, Dominic unlawfully and maliciously wounded Samantha Riley
It was further alleged that on the same day at West Ruimveldt, Dominic had in his possession a 1.9mm spent shell without being a licensed firearm holder at the time.
The 47-year-old man who resides at 261 East Ruimveldt denied all the charges that were read out to him in court by the magistrate.

The police prosecutor objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offenses and the fact that the defendant was a flight risk.

Magistrate Judy Latchman granted the accused bail in the sum of $30,000 for the possession of ammunition charge and remanded him to prison on the two other charges. The matters were adjourned to July 30, 2018.
