ACROSS Guyana, children in many remote communities face several challenges trying to get to school; challenges which often lead to many children dropping out before completing school at different levels.

Moruca, Region One, is one such area where these challenges exist, but that does not stop the children in the photos below from persevering to access their education. As the country celebrates the stellar results of this year’s National Grade Six Assessment, we take time to also appreciate the circumstances under which some of these children achieve these results.
