GUYANA’S senior national female basketball team will open their Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championship campaign today in Suriname against Barbados.
Ginelle Ifill will captain the side in Suriname, while Miriam McKenzie will serve as her deputy, on the team that also includes local star Jada Mohan, Annalisa Barclay, Saffiya Greene, Kennesha Leacock, Roschelle Campbell, Demelza Nicholas, Caron Bobb-Semple, Makeida Rogers, Cliffanna Hunter and Kesann Charles.
Troy Greene is the team’s head coach, while Dave Causeway is his assistant. Ann Gordon is the manager, and Jonas Anestal is the physiotherapist and physical conditioner.
Drawn in Group B, Guyana will next play Suriname on Monday and will close off their round-robin group stage games against the Dominican Republic on Tuesday.
Over in Group A, The Bahamas, Cuba and St Vincent and the Grenadines will battle it out.
