OVERSEAS Guyanese Kristian Jeffrey completed round three of the SR3 European Championships with two podium finishes from three races last weekend in Belgium
Jeffrey followed up Saturday’s first race third place with another in Sunday’s final race at the famous Spa Circuit in Belgium, where formula 1 is held annually.
The Guyanese, who sat third in the Solo Championship entering round three last weekend, moved up the pack and picked up another podium finish in race one on Saturday.
He finished half a second off the leaders and confirmed on Saturday that the team was making modifications to the car to try to take the top spot in race two yesterday.
However, mechanical issues plagued him during race two which saw him finish out of the top 10.
According to Jeffrey, the car developed problems downshifting and as such, he was able to bring it home for team points.
However, in Race Three where he started in 13th, he was able to manage another podium.
He said, “Despite the little misfortunes, we kept a positive mindset throughout the weekend. Spa is a very unique track, it’s an unbelievable feeling going through eau rouge flat out.”
