THE Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has secured sponsorship for a double-wicket cricket competition for teams in the Upper Corentyne area.
The sponsorship would be officially launched tomorrow during the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association Awards Ceremony at the Taj Mahal Hotel.

BCB president Hilbert Foster, during a face-the-public interaction with clubs in the Upper Corentyne Area in April, had made several commitments.
These included obtaining sponsorships for 20/20, 40-over and double-wicket competitions for Upper Corentyne teams, providing balls for teams arranging coaching sessions and organising an Awards Ceremony for players.

With the launching of the tournament, which is valued at just under $200 000, Foster would have fulfilled all of his promises in just three months.
The competition would attract pairs from 28 clubs based in the sub-association.
The sponsor of the competition is Surendra Ganesh of Nand Persaud Ganesh Packaging.
