Police are investigating the death of a 51- year-old Betsy Ground labourer who was  killed at a ranch at East Canje ,Berbice earlier this week.

Dead is  Harrinarine Samaroo , age 51.

Reports are that the victim and another man had been working  at a cattle ranch at an area called ‘New Forest Follow- up.’

The other man told police that they were at a camp house on the ranch on Sunday night when they were attacked by intruders.He said he jumped through a window and ran away.

The man made his way to the Reliance Police Station and reported the matter.

Another labourer later discovered Samaroo’s body ; he was lying on his right side in a crouching position with what appeared to be a gun shot wound on the right side of his neck and one on his left ear. Reports are that 10  sheep were missing from the ranch.

The police arrested the labourer who was in Samaroo’s company at the time of the incident .
