Leguan man jailed for three years for cocaine possession

Twenty-four-year-old Paul Chan, a labourer of Kingston, Leguan was on Monday sentenced to three years imprisonment  for the possession cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Chan made an appearance on Monday before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded guilty to the charge.

The charge stated that on May 20 , 2018, he was found with 19 grams of cocaine in his possession at Kingston Leguan, Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara).

Chan was arrested by the police  during a raid. The young man was also fined  $114,000 for the offence.
