SADATH Newark on Thursday appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman on a causing death by dangerous driving charge.
It is alleged that on February 6, 2018 at Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke, Linden Highway, Newark drove motorcar PRR 378 in a manner dangerous to the public, causing the death of Dexter Conway.
The 28-year-old man denied the charge read to him.
According to the prosecutor, on the day in question, the defendant was proceeding east along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway when he collided with Conway who was standing on the road side. Conway was flung onto the road’s surface. He was then picked up and rushed to the Diamond Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival
The magistrate granted bail in the sum of $1.5M and the matter was adjourned for May 8, 2018.
