LOCAL Electronics company, Gizmos and Gadgets, has signed on to the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC), MS, for a 10th consecutive year.

Last Tuesday at a simple ceremony at the Gizmos & Gadgets office in Wellington Street, Georgetown, the company renewed its cricket sponsorship of the RHTY&SC Under-21 and First Division teams for the tenth successive year.

The sponsorship for the two teams is worth $300 000 for the year and would cover the cost of transportation, snacks, balls for practice and gear. Additionally, Gizmos & Gadgets would also provide special gifts for outstanding players who represented both teams in 2017.

Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster hailed the remarkable relationship between the two organisations and stated that it has been successful and progressive. The RHTY&SC in 2009, 2010 and 2016 also received the Guyana Cricket Board Club-of-the-Year Award under the sponsorship.

The long-serving Secretary/CEO stated that Gizmos & Gadgets had provided the RHTY&SC with comfort to play Under-21 and First Division cricket without worrying about the financial cost and this has played a major role in the success story on the cricket field.

Special thanks to CEO Ravi Mangar for his continued confidence in the club and the two teams, which over the years have successfully completed over 500 personal development programmes under the Sub-headings of Sport, Culture, Charity, Education, Youth Development, Social, Religious, Anti-Crime, Anti-Alcohol among others.

Mangar, in brief remarks, stated that he was delighted to have his business brand associated with the RHTY&SC, MS, and that the Club has represented the brand well over the years. Gizmos & Gadgets would continue to support the club, which was a pacesetter and role model for others to emulate.

Despite the slowdown in business, the sponsorship with the RHTY&SC is top priority for Gizmos & Gadgets and Mangar expressed confidence that the relationship would be strengthened in the future.

The Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets Under-21 team in 2018 would be led by Kevin Sinclair while Shawn Pereira would lead the first division team.

The RHTY&SC debuted at the first division cricket level in 1992, just two years after its formation in September 1990, and today is widely considered one of Guyana’s leading cricket clubs at all levels.
