THE body of an unidentified male of African descent was found floating in a trench next to Carifesta Avenue, in the vicinity of Camp Ayanganna, early on Monday.
When the Guyana Chronicle arrived on scene, police had already taken the body out of the trench and it subsequently taken to the Lyken Funeral Home.

Reliable sources from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the body was partially decomposed and had marks of violence, especially around the face.
The body was also found shirtless but with a black jeans. Police said the remains appeared to be that of a middle-aged man.
Investigations are ongoing and the body is yet to be identified.
