It’s a wrap

THE Sonia Noel Foundation for Creative Arts had a magnificent start for Women’ History Month and wrapped up in style.

Last Sunday the Lusignan Clubhouse was transformed into an elegant atmosphere to host a fundraising tea party and fashion show. Patrons were in awe of the sophisticated ambience created by Party Castle Supplies and Rentals. The view of the course was breathtaking and patrons were taking it all in with the cool breeze passing through.

Vanda Allicock created a new hand-painted line for both men and women. Lorane Sears showcased a burlap and cotton Easter collection. I displayed a mixture of the old and new collection. My new collection features black with a mixture of African fabric. The creative hats that complemented all the collections were designed by Melba La Goude from intricate creations. The background jazz music added to the classy atmosphere. I joined Mr Hussain, Chairman of the club, in briefly explaining the vision for the Lusignan Golf Course.

My team and I have been visiting the Women’s Prison at New Amsterdam for years and this year some of the co-authors from Women Across Borders were with the team. Chan Tale Flood and Danielle John, joined me this year to add value to the lives of the inmates. The ladies were super excited to be in our presence. We laughed, we hugged, got emotional, sang gospel, prayed and shared some love. I also shared some of my personal failures. We don’t have to be confined to a cell to be in a prison so we should not be too judgmental

They received copies of LIVING WITH INTENTION, Soaring into Greatness by Dr. Jackie Evans Phillips and Nell’s Nightmare by Hilda Bourne. Ms. Ogleton received the three books on behalf of the officers. I am confident this book will be adding value to many lives.
As we enter into a new month with the Easter festivities, let us be aware of the environment and the people around us. Whether you are going to the Lethem Rodeo, Bartica Regatta or just chilling on the seawalls, Happy Easter to everyone as we continue this beautiful journey called life beyond the runway.
