New Silvercity Secondary swamp Private Schools 10-0, MHS ease past Harmony 3-1

VINTAGE New Silvercity Secondary hammered the Private Schools Combined 10-0 and Mackenzie High School (MHS) coasted to a 3-1 win against Harmony on Wednesday afternoon, when the round-robin play in the Edward ‘Screw’ Richmond Memorial Linden Schools Under-18 football championship continued at the Wisburg Secondary School ground.

Playing in the first game of the double-header card Mackenzie High took the lead as early as the 6th minute when Kemuel Batson found the back of the net. His team mate Lebron Deflorimonte doubled it for the MHS boys in the 28th minute before the halftime whistle.
After play resumed, Mackenzie High continued their dominance. Lorenzo Miller sent them further ahead in the 46th minute before Harmony reduced the lead when Lennox Profitt scored in the 65th minute, but the final score was still in favour of Mackenzie High who won 3-1.

New Silvercity Secondary took full advantage of a seven-man Private Schools Combined unit and crushed them 10-0, in a savage display.
Ojani Whittington and Shane Haynes produced hat-tricks in the assault which read 6-0 at halftime.

Whittington netted in the 8th, 10th and 57th minutes while his team mate Shane Haynes registered his in the 18th, 20th and 34th minutes. A brace came from the boot of Emmanuel Atkins in the 14th and 38th minutes and Huey Fraser scored in the 23rd minute with Malachi Todd polishing off in the 70th-minute 10-0 mauling.

In other results on Wednesday, Wisburg Secondary trounced Linden Foundation Secondary 4-0 at home, while Harmony Secondary blanked Linden Technical Institute 1-0.
Wisburg Secondary gained all their goals in the first half of play. Joel Isaacs executed a double strike in the 16th and 32nd minutes and Leyon Jones in the 20th and Quacy Cadogan in the 31st minutes.

In the 1-0 win by Harmony Secondary over Linden Technical Institute, Osafo Paul made their lone strike in the 18th minute.
