A 30-YEAR-OLD man appeared before a city magistrate on Monday to answer three charges of incurring debts and simple larceny
Oswin Randy Archer who resides at Third Avenue, Bartica, is alleged to have stolen one cell phone worth $30,000, the property of Jamal Dazzle.
It was also alleged that Archer obtained credit in the sum of $38,000 by travelling with Jamal’s motor car and refusing to pay, and too, on March 6 at Main Street, he incurred another debt at Palm Court by obtaining credit to the tune of $21,000 for the purchase of eight Guinness stouts, four Maltas , three Hennessey shots, one serving chicken nuggets, one chicken fried rice and chicken with fries.
Archer pleaded not guilty to all three of the charges,
According to the facts as presented by the prosecutor, the accused ordered the food and didn’t have money to pay. Also that he obtained credit by false pretence when he hired the motor car and went to the airport and Berbice. He refused to pay when asked for the money for the use of the taxi.
Bail was granted by Magistrate Judy Latchman in the sum of $160,000, the matters were adjourned for March 29, 2018.
