CREATIVITY was at its best at this year’s Children’s Road March and Float Parade organised by the Region Two Department of Education.
The beautiful floats transformed the township of Anna Regina into a sea of colours as hundreds of persons converged on various routes to witness the children parading on the roadway.
The road show commenced at 10:00hrs at the Three Friends Bridge with secondary, primary and nursery school students joining the procession at various points, converging on the Anna Regina Community Centre Ground.

Twenty-five schools participated in the parade. Leading the parade was the Department of Education float which was led by the regional education officers.
Most of the participating schools made costumes that matched with this year’s Mashramani theme, “Let’s co-operate and celebrate Republic 48”.

As the energetic procession made its way to the Anna Regina Community Centre ground, hundreds of persons converged to get a glimpse.

With small Golden Arrowheads in their hands, the children danced energetically to the Soca and Chutney music which blared from various sound systems.

The floats and parade were supervised by teachers from the various schools. After the grand parade, children socialised with one another at the Anna Regina Community Centre Ground, creating an atmosphere of unity.
The parade concluded the regional education department’s Mash activities for 2018.
