HAMPSHIRE followed up their low-scoring win over the Jamaica Scorpions on Sunday with another one, this time against the Combined Campuses and Colleges and Marooners on Monday as action in the Cricket West Indies Regional Super50 Festival continued at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Choosing to bat, Hampshire could manage only 152 but put in a good bowling performance to squeeze out a five-run victory.
Hampshire suffered a cataclysmic collapse, as Calvin Dickinson, 4, James Adams, 0, Joe Weatherley, 0, Sean Ervine, 0, and Lewis McManus, 0, left them reeling at 15-5.

Opener Thomas Alsop was forced to watch the demise of his teammates while amassing 31 from 39 deliveries. Fortunately, Bradley Taylor provided some rearguard action, scoring a patient 69 from 108 deliveries to help give the Hampshire side a total they could defend.
Despite Taylor’s efforts, Hampshire were bowled out in 42.3 overs, with Asher Hart scoring 18 and Bradley Wheal ending with 18 not out.

The poor batting came against an all-round bowling performance from the Marooners.
Kheshan Ottley was the best of the Marooners’ bowlers, grabbing 3-33, while Jermaine Levy and Vikash Mohan had 2-23 each. There were also wickets for Keron Cottoy, 1-37, and Jameel Stuart 1-13.

When the Marooners replied, they were also undone by an all-round bowling performance as Heal ended with figures of 3-29.
In support of Heal, Fidel Edwards ended with 2-36, while Hart had 2-34. There was a wicket apiece for Gareth Berg, 1-26, and Weatherley, 1-5.

Against that bowling, only Mohan 40, and Cottoy 30 not out made serious marks, as Weatherley trapped Levy for two with the last ball of the 46th over to complete a very close victory.
