THE Guyana Police Force is expected to see some changes within its high command as of January 19, with several senior officers set to proceed on “annualised and accumulated” leave.
Among officers so entitled are Assistant Commissioner of Police and ‘A’ Division Commander, Marlon Chapman; Senior Superintendent and Commander ‘C’ Division, Calvin Brutus; Senior Superintendent and Commander ‘F’ Division, Ravindradat Bhudram; and Traffic Chief, Superintendent Dion Moore.
In the circumstance, Assistant Commissioner Leslie James will be taking over ‘A’ Division, leaving his ‘D’ Division in the care of Senior Superintendent Karimbaksh of ‘E’ Division.
In the latter’s absence, Superintendent Vanderhyden will head ‘E’ Division, while Senior Superintendent Edmond Cooper will head to ‘C’ Division.
Senior Superintendent Kevin Adonis will be holding the fort for Senior Superintendent Bhudram in ‘F’ Division.
Bhudram reportedly has the most accumulated time of all the officers proceeding on leave.
The Traffic Chief’s Chair will be taken over by Superintendent Ashram until the return of the substantive Traffic Chief, Dion Moore.
Word is that a senior officer who is presently serving in ‘C’ Division, will be heading to the Tactical Service Unit to hold the fort for Senior Superintendent Kevin Adonis.
Meanwhile, days after the return of Commissioner of Police Seelall Persaud from leave, Assistant Commissioner of Police David Ramnarine went on leave.
As a consequence, Assistant Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken is performing the functions of A/C Administration, while Force Finance Officer Nigel Hoopie is functioning as the A/C Operation.
