A 23-year-old Nutmeg Street, North Ruimveldt resident is currently in police custody after being nabbed in a minibus with a loaded firearm.

According to reports, the man was apprehended on Friday evening in the vicinity of Laparkan Shipping on Lombard Street, here in the city, after the police got word that a male was seen with a firearm in a minibus.

The suspect, on seeing the police approaching the minibus, tried exiting the vehicle and running away, but was caught.

On searching him, the police found an unlicensed Taurus pistol with nine live rounds in his crotch. He is currently being processed for court on Monday.
