BRAZIL’S military police on Tuesday afternoon arrested wanted woman, Nelciane Pereira de Andrade in a taxi destined for Lethem from neighbouring Bom Fim.

The 25-year-old was wanted by police in Brazil since last month when she was suspected of killing a young woman there by stabbing her 50 times. Another woman is also being sought in connection with the grisly murder which was filmed by the suspects.

The suspect was also being sought in connection with another murder, the victim of which was rescued alive, but died at the hospital, Brazilian media house, Folha Boa Vista reported on Tuesday night.

Pereira, who was arrested with another woman and three men, had in her possession a pistol and ammunition.
The Guyanese taxi driver was later released after being questioned by the authorities across the border.

Last week, the courts in Brazil issued arrest warrants for Pereira and Ana Carolina, who is still on the run.
