Police acting on information went to a house at Block 8 Mon Repos ,East Coast Demerara about 18:30hrs on Christmas night and conducted a search .

Police said in the process , a 29- year -old labourer was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm; the weapon, a 9mm pistol without magazine was found concealed in his crotch.

He is being processed for court.
