2017 GCB/Jaguars One-Day 50-Overs League enters final preliminary round

THE GCB/Jaguars One-Day 50-Overs League will enter its final preliminary round on Saturday December 23, 2017 with matches at four venues across the country.

On Saturday, December 23 2017, Essequibo, champions of the 2017 GCB/Jaguars 3-Day League, and who are currently leading the points table of the 2017 GCB/Jaguars One-Day 50-Overs League, will do battle with current fifth-placed Upper Corentyne, at the Albion Community Centre groun.

Meanwhile joint third-place teams, Georgetown and West Demerara, will compete at the Tuschen ground, for an opportunity to reach the Playoff. The Playoff is set for the December 28, 2017 and will involve the second- and third-place teams to be declared at the end of the seventh and final preliminary round.
Current seventh-place Upper Demerara/East Bank will compete with the present sixth-placed West Berbice at the Everest ground, while defending Jaguars One-Day 50-overs League Champions and current second-place Lower Corentyne will oppose cellar-placed East Coast Demerara at the Young Warriors ground. All matches will commence at 09:00hrs. The current point standings are as follow
Note: Win 6, Tie 3, No Result 3 and Loss 0.

2 Super Bonus points (batting) – team to score 300 or more and win that match.
1 Super Bonus point (batting) – team to scores 300 or more and lose that match.
2 Super Bonus points (bowling) – team to dismisses the opposition for less than 150 and win that match.
