A pet lover and Santa’s reindeer

‘SANTA Paws’ came to town Sunday afternoon as dozens of pet lovers and owners flocked the National Park, Georgetown, as “Pawsome Pets” presented their first annual pet show.

Under the Christmas theme ‘Santa Paws,’ ‘doggies’ competed in categories such as Best Behaviour, Pets Got Talent, Waggiest Tail, Best Dressed, Fastest Eater, Happiest Dog, Shiniest Coat, Golden Oldie, Santa Paws is coming to town, Pet most like its Owner and the Most Unusual Pet.
Gracing the show was special guest speaker, veterinarian, Dr. Steve Surujbally, who spoke on the issue of pet care and the importance of healthy diet for pets.
The Guyana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Clinic and Shelter was also at the event with pets up for adoption. A veterinarian from the Guyana Livestock Development Authority and other members were on site.

Luanna Pierre, the coordinator of the pet show and owner of Pawsome Pets, said the event provides an opportunity for pet lovers to interact and show off their pets.
She hosted the pet show to educate and entertain pet owners.
