THE United Cycle Club’s `Dash for Cash’ 30-lap cycle race will be staged around the inner circuit of the National Park from 09:00hrs today and is expected to attract Guyana’s top pedal-pushers.
According to Guyana Cycle Federation’s Assistant Racing Secretary Joseph Britton, the event is open to cyclists from all across Guyana. Already most of the country’s top cyclists have indicated their intention to be a part of the activity, which usually carries a prime prize for each of the 30 laps as well as a handsome financial package for the top finishers.
Among the top cyclists expected to face the starter today are: Team Evolution’s Raul Leal, Marlon `Fishy’ Williams and Orville Hinds among others. Then there are United’s Andrew Hicks and his sibling David, Trojan’s Jonathan Ramsuchit, Team Alanis’ Paul Cho-Wee-Nam and Raynauth Jeffrey and Continental Cycle Club’s Geron Williams.
Over $200 000 in cash prizes will be up for grabs.
