Nations given the 2017 Educational Development Award for the Caribbean

DIRECTORS of Nations University, Guyana, Dr. Brian O’Toole and Mrs. Pamela O’Toole were bestowed with the prestigious 2017 Award for Educational Development in the Caribbean when the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP: Trinidad Chapter) held their awards dinner in Trinidad.

The ceremony was held at the ballroom of Cara Suites Hotel and Conference Centre on October 6, 2017.  The award for Nations University was handed over to Dr. Brian O’Toole by Guyana’s High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Hon. Bishwaishwar “Cammie” Ramsaroop.

Theirs was among five awards conferred at the ceremony. Other agencies that were recognised were: Mr. Ravi Haraksingh of Reliability Engineers; the Chairman’s Award to Bissundath Gokool;  the Logistical Services Award to RAMP’s Logistics from Trinidad; the Leadership Award to Mr. RudolpT. Elias of Staatsolie in Suriname.
The feature address was given by Kevin Ramnarine, former Senator and Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs in Trinidad and Tobago.

The awards ceremony was organised by Kuarlal Rampersaud, Vice President of Keeter Sutherland Ltd in collaboration with the SMRP programme in Houston, USA. SMRP was represented by the company’s International Director, Mr Jeff Shivers who flew in from USA for the event. It was also an opportunity for the SMRP programme to distribute certificates for participants on their Certified Training Instructor programme and CMRP Certification programme.
