THE Guyana Ex-Police Association of America has donated US$2,100 and G$15,000 to Minister of Social Protection, Amna Ally, as part of their contribution to the government’s ‘5 Bs’ project.
Minister Ally received the donations from members of the association in her office at Lamaha and East Streets.
According to Ally, the donation will go a far way in helping to add to the existing set of buses, boats and bicycles.
“We are happy that you have recognised the importance of this project, and will play a part in helping us keep it alive. Thank you,” said the Minister.
President of the Association, Leroy Charles said because they were coming to Guyana to pay tribute to the deceased Guyana-born New York Police Department (NYPD) Detective, Randolph Holder, they found it prudent to make another contribution.
In echoing the sentiments of the minister, Charles said he is sure that the contribution will go a far way in making a difference for the children who benefit from the Five B’s project.
