SANTOS currently occupies the second spot in the points’ standing of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Premier League after brushing aside Pele 2-0 in a second round fixture on Sunday at the Georgetown Football Club, ground.
Playing the feature match of a triple-header card, Ryan October and William Eurpoe found their target in the 41st and 55th minutes respectively to steer Santos to a comprehensive victory.
The win for Santos earned them three points to add to the three points they secured in their 3-0 win against Northern Rangers two weeks ago, which gives them a plus-five goal difference.
Europe’s goal on Sunday was his third from two matches, having recorded a double against Northern rangers.
Police are the current points leader with six points also, but the team has a plus six goal difference, having defeated Riddim Squad 4-1 two weeks ago and Flamingo 3-0 on Friday last.
Camptown is third with six points from two victories; a 2-1 win against Pele and a similar margin of victory over Northern rangers on Friday.
In other results from Sunday, GFC and Black Pearl played to a 1-1 stalemate with Devon Henry scoring in the 13th minute for Black Pearl and Curtez Kellman registering the equalizer five minutes later.
The Bourda team is currently 4th in the league with five points from a walk-over win (three points) over Flamingo and two points from Sunday’s drawn game.
Black Pearl secured two points from the results of the game also.
The second match on Sunday evening saw Riddim Squad edging Beacons 1-0, through a Wendell Joseph- 19th minute goal.
The tournament will continue on Friday at the same venue with a double-header. In the first game from 18:00hrs, Flamingo will face Santos and from 20:00hrs, GFC will host Camptown.
