BUSINESS entity Trophy Stall has thrown its support towards the development of Under-19 cricket in Essequibo.
The support will go towards the staging of a three-match Under-18 50-over tournament to be played between the New Opportunity Sports Club Select XI and Wakenaam.
The three-match series, which is set to commence tomorrow at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground in Good Success, is an initiative between senior coaches Forbes Daniels and Nandkishore Andrews.
Proprietor of the business entity, Ramesh Sunich, has donated the first- and second-place trophies.
Sunich, in an invited comment, said he is happy to contribute to the development of the game in the area, and lauded the coaches for the venture.
Zaheer Mohamed, who received the prizes on behalf of the coaches, expressed gratitude to Sunich for his support.
The Wakenaam side includes: Marlon Dindyal, Bhumeshwar Ramkissoon, Romario Stephen, Dicquan Clarke, Beesham Moses, Reon Venture, David Chalitar, Mahase Ramnarine, Devendra Seetaram, Quacy Whyte, Derwin Bacon, Sachin Dindyal and Matthew Chung.
The New Opportunity Sports Club Select XI will have players such as Orlando Jailall, Shane Wong, Davendra Mohan, Sherlon Anthony and Saeed Hack.
