Sophia man remanded for ‘ganja’ possession

A 42-year-old Sophia resident was Monday remanded to prison by City Magistrate, Judy Latchman on a drug trafficking charge.

Mawali Caesar, of Section ‘B’, Sophia, denied that on August 18 at Broad Street, Charlestown, he had 96 grams of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Police Prosecutor, Adoni Innis objected to Caesar’s being released on bail due to the nature and seriousness of the charge. Innis further pointed out that the drugs were found in Caesar’s home.
The Magistrate ruled in the prosecution’s favour, and remanded Caesar until September 11.
