FOR more than three months the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) said its customers have been unable to receive text messages (SMS) from Digicel customers because of programming problems on the Digicel network.
GTT said it became aware of the issue due to feedback from its customers.
“Having determined that there were problems on the Digicel network that has been the cause for this issue, GTT’s technical team has been providing assistance to have the issues on that company’s network resolved. To date, and despite the continuous guidance and assistance from the GTT team, the problems on the Digicel network, causing this issue, have not been rectified,” GTT said.
According to GTT, customers continue to have the ability to send text messages (SMS) to the Digicel customers.
“GTT remains committed to having its technical team work with their counterparts at Digicel until their customers are able to resume communication on the SMS platform as soon as possible,” GTT said.
