THE Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) summer camp will commence on August 7 to 25 at the club’s Queenstown, Georgetown ground.
The 15-day camp specifically targets children aged seven years to the Under-17 level, and is aimed at ensuring the youngsters learn the joys of cricket, while acquiring and developing the basic skills of the game.

The programme also involves classroom style sessions, lectures by a variety of expert presenters, cricket and fitness drills, game simulations and matches.
Quality and experienced coaching will be done by Travis Dowlin, Garvin Nedd, Mark Harper, Reon King and Orin Bailey.

Registration forms can be uplifted at the club after 16:00hrs daily or contact can be made on 226-2006 or 665-7400.
Refreshment and lunch will be provided. A dress code will be in effect, and confirmed participants are asked to attire in track pants or short pants, white tee or polo shirts, track boots and socks.
Youths will be placed in groups according to their age and skill level. Participants are encouraged to walk with their own equipment, water bottle, rag and hats.
However, DCC will provide gear for participants to use as well. The camp runs from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs daily.
