BASSETERRE, St Kitts, (CMC) – Saiba Batoosingh’s half-century and Justyn Gango’s three-wicket haul were enough to hand Trinidad and Tobago the advantage on the opening day of their third round Regional Under-19 Championship contest against Jamaica here Tuesday.
Opting to bat first at Molineaux, T&T were dismissed for 153 with Batoosingh top-scoring with an attractive 76. However, he was the only one to pass 20 and just one of three to reach double figures.

He arrived with the innings slumping at eight for three in the sixth over and put on 31 for the fourth wicket with Christian Thurton (18) and 45 for the fifth wicket with Joshua James (18).
All told, Batoosingh struck seven fours and two sixes in an innings requiring 120 balls and a shade over 2-1/4 hours, before being last out.
Seamer Kishawn Graham claimed four for 41 while Andre McCarty (2-11) and Shalome Parnell (2-40) backed up with two wickets apiece.

In reply, Jamaica ended the day tottering on 106 for seven, 47 runs adrift of their target.
They found themselves in a deep hole at 49 for six as left-arm spinner Gangoo ripped through the innings with three for 28 but Shalome Parnell (29) and Raewin Senior (26) came to their side’s rescue in a 53-run seventh wicket stand.
Parnell faced 43 balls and struck three fours while Senior has so far faced 68 deliveries in 1-1/2 hours at the crease and counted three boundaries.
