Bryce Prince was in fine form as he swooped to his maiden super stock pole win in the twin Island Republic when the Caribbean Motor Racing championship rolled into that country for round two.
Prince, who had a clean sweep in Jamaica earlier this year, made good on his opening in Trinidad and Tobago after clocking a 41.167 time, more than half a second in front of the host’s Keil Abrahams and Warren DeNobrega.
Speaking after the performance, Prince said, “Today (yesterday) was another good day for us, we got a pole here in Trinidad ,but it was a little challenging though because we had one quick practice session just after lunch and then the 15-minute qualifying session, but we still feel like we have a lot more to go and we can get even faster.”
“We don’t want to predict anything, but what I can say is that we are aiming for another clean sweep like Jamaica. The idea is to ensure that we bring home the bike and the rider safely.”
Elsewhere, Group two will see Luke Bhola starting on pole ahead of Justine Sanginette, Dr Mark Williams, Che Carrington and Barbadian Mark Thompson.
Guyana’s Rameez Mohamed will start 13th on the grid after mechanical troubles with the car were being sorted out. At the group three level, Trinidadian David Lyons pipped Paul Vieira to pole while Ronald Worthman starts third alongside Guyana’s Mohamed.
At the group four 4wd level, Ross Vieira took pole while on the two-wheel drive end; Franklyn Boodhram will start on pole.
