A MAN was fined $50,000 for wounding his friend earlier this week when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

It is alleged that on June 26, 2017 at High Street, Georgetown, Mark Valentine unlawfully and maliciously wounded Lancy Liverpool.

According to the police, Valentine and Liverpool are known to each other and the two men had a misunderstanding, which led to an exchange of words, resulting in a fight. An investigation was carried out on the case.

The defendant pled guilty to the offence and was fined $50,000 by Magistrate Leron Daly. Liverpool was free to go since there was no charge against him.
