Man charged for $2M robbery

A MAN was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Magistrate Leron Daly on a charge of robbery under arms.

It is alleged that Shamar Peters robbed two men of over $2 million.

According to police on June 27, 2017, at South Ruimveldt Gardens, armed with a gun, Peters robbed Basil Aladin of $2.1 million cash. That same day he also robbed Adrian Duncan of one cell phone valuing $20,000.

Peters pleaded not guilty to the two charges although he was positively identified by the victims. Peters has been remanded to prison until July 14, 2017.
