A CONSTRUCTION worker was placed bail on $60,000 bail on a charge of assault when he appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Thirty-nine-year-old Neil Garraway denied the charge which alleged that on February 22 at Mocha, East Bank Demerara, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on the virtual complainant Indra Kissoon. Police Prosecutor Preston John had no objection to bail being granted the defendant and the facts of the matter were not stated. The magistrate then granted bail and the matter was adjourned until July 7.
