AK-47 duo picked up over series of robberies, narco trafficking

TEON ALLEN and Andrew Pollydore who were recently charged with the illegal possession of ammunition and firearms were on Thursday arrested at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court moments after they exited the court room of their trial.
According to the police, the men were arrested in connection with a series of robbery under arms and trafficking in narcotics. The men were escorted to the Brickdam Police Station where it is reported that investigations are being conducted.
The men along with former policeman, Lloyd Roberts were charged after the discovery of guns and ammunition during a police raid at a John Street, Campbellville home. The allegation against the men stated that on January 22, 2017 at John Street, Campbellville, the men, who are all miners, had an AK-47 rifle in their possession, while not being the holders of a firearm licence. It is alleged too that they also had 7 .68×39 rounds of ammunition. It is further alleged that the men had a 9mm Gluck pistol in their possession along with 20 live matching rounds.
Andrew Pollydore, a former Guyana Police Force (GPF) rank and Teon Alleyne were jointly charged before a City Magistrate in 2014 with carjacking. Pollydore was also charged in 2013 with receiving stolen property.
