A MAN was on Friday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his wife.
Jaram Alexander pleaded not guilty to the charged, which stated that on May 30, 2017 in Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded his wife.
Facts presented by Police prosecutor Sanj Singh stated that Alexander abuses his wife regularly and on the day in question he demanded money from her and when she refused to give him, he armed himself with a knife and stabbed her to the left side of her abdomen. The man allegedly tried to cut her neck with the knife.
The matter was adjourned until June 23.
