POLICE arrested two teenagers and seized a firearm in a house at Tabatinga, Lethem, after they fired shots at a man in Beverly Hill Street, Lethem on Wednesday.
The man shot at was identified as Robert Laurindo, 27 of Lethem. The two men arrested are a19-year-old salesman and a 15-year-old mechanic of Boa vista, Brazil.
Reports indicate that the suspects had an argument with the victim over some money. The victim and a friend subsequently drove away in a car towards the Beverly Hill Street but the two teens followed on a motorcycle. The victim stopped the car and another argument ensued.
It is alleged that the 15-year-old then drew a .32 Taurus revolver from his waist and handed it to the 19-year-old, who discharged three rounds in Laurindo’s direction. However, he missed. The suspects then made good their escape on the motorcycle.
A report was made to the police and the teens were caught in a house where the firearm and ammunition were found in a haversack. The suspects are in custody as investigations continue.
