The game at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, between Berbice and Demerara was called off at 12:23hrs, while the Guyana Under-15 Select X1 vs Essequibo game scheduled for the Everest Cricket Club was abandoned just after lunch.
Meanwhile, official points standing indicted that Berbice claimed the title after two convincing wins, to top the table with 20.5 points.

In their first round game, Berbice edged Essequibo by three wickets before whipping the Guyana Under-15 Select X1 by nine wickets in round two.
Essequibo claimed the runner’s up spot with 12.1 points, while Demerara and the Guyana Under-15 Select X1 ended on 10.3 points and 2.6 points respectively.
Further,in an invited comment,coach Randolph Latcha pointed out that while he is disappointed with the outcome yesterday, he feels Berbice played excellent cricket during the two matches played.

“We had two excellent games of cricket. The first game Essequibo give us a little challenge, but we came back strongly against the Select Under-15 team, where we bowled them out(in) just under 12 overs, so I am pleased with the performance,” Latcha said.
Latcha also praised the GCB for organising a well-run tournament.
At the presentation ceremony, GCB Secretary Anand Sanasie thanked the sponsor, adding that Sterling Products through its Igloo Ice-cream brand has been with the Under-17 tournament for some time now.

Sanasie also added that the level of play throughout the tournament was good. A 20-man squad will be released shortly by the junior selection panel.
That squad, according to Sanasie,will participate in the upcoming Inter-county Under-19 tournament, as part of their preparation for the upcoming Regional Under-17 tournament.
